This is a walking route for the experienced hiker that likes a challenge. The route takes you over the gorgeous Camino de Ronda coastal path and the Cap de Creus natural preserve. It´s an ideal mix between impressive vistas in the Pyrenees, secluded bays with with an azure blue Mediterranean Sea and century old castles.

Day 1: Breathtaking views and impressive monumental complex

We pick you up and take you to your hotel in Palau de Saverdera, a typical Catalan village on a hillside.
On your first hiking day you climb to the top of the hill. You choose a gravel path (++) or the technical path (+++). Both routes lead you through unspoilt nature with a view of the Bay of Roses, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
After you pass the white chapel of Sant Onofre, you reach the ruins of the medieval village of Santa Creu and the monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes. This is one of the most impressive remains of Romanesque architecture in Catalonia. Today it is a museum worth visiting.
An optional climb of 20 minutes takes you to the ruins of the Verdera castle. The strategic location at the top gives you a breathtaking view of the Cap de Creus peninsula.
You descend to Port de la Selva, a white fishing village on the bay, where you spend the night in a hotel that overlooks the bay.
Day 2: Through the rugged nature of the Cap de Creus

Today is a flatter walk through the rugged beauty of the Cap de Creus natural park.
You follow the old pilgrim path and pass the ruins of Sant Baldiri de Tavallera.
You walk straight through the nature reserve to Cadaques (short route) or go left via the wild coastline (long route). It becomes clear where the name "Costa Brava" or "Wild Coast" comes from.
Those who take the long route will arrive at the Cap de Creus lighthouse. The lighthouse is a restaurant and a magical place for lunch. You continue the old path along the coast to the bay of Port Lligat. Here you will stay in a lovely beach side hotel that overviews the quiet bay. You will stay here 2 night.
Painter Salvador Dali knew that this is a unique place. He lived in the house next to the hotel, now a museum. The white fisherstown of Cadaques is just a stroll away. It´s a lively town that looks like a postcard!
Day 3: The famous Cami de Ronda and lunch in a gorgeous bay

Today you do a circular route, so you choose how strenuous you make your day.
The shorter walk will take you along the coastline. The longer version over the ridge of Perafita.
You follow the famous Cami de Ronda path, an accessible coastal path that winds along the coastline. You walk overviewing the turquoise bays and you can go for a swim on one of the secluded beaches.
On the route you can have lunch in a restaurant under the olive trees. It´s an oasis of tranquility in a spectacular bay in the middle of the national park.
Day 4: Coastal path and the beauty of the Cap Norfeu

Your fourth walking day leads you along the rocky coastline and Cap Norfeu. It´s a cape with hidden beaches, a watchtower on the top and small coves where the land lowers into the sea.
Lunch is possible in the picturesque bay of Cala Pelosa, with its beach bar and excellent fish restaurant. This bay was home of the world-famous restaurant El Bulli. You continue the Cami de Ronda and pass the bunkers built to defend the coast in case of attack during World War II.
Finally your arrive in the tourist village of Roses. There we pick you up for a transfer that takes you to your hotel on the other side of the bay.
Day 5: Inland towards the castle of Montgri

Todays hike follows the coastline of the bay. Along the way you pass some secluded beaches till you arrive at the beautiful bay of Cala Montgo.
You walk passed the remains of a military fortress. After a flat stretch through a grove, you see the 14th century Castle of Montgri on the top. It s a landmark in the area that you can enter. From the top of the walls you have an amazing view on the Medes Islands, 7 small islands.
You leave the Costa Brava behind and descend towards Torroella de Montgrí, a historic town where you sleep in a 4 star hotel-castle with big gardens and swimming pool.
Day 6: Through ancient times

You end your trip with a relaxed walking day on flatter paths.
The landscape here reminds of Tuscany, rolling hills and sunflowers as far as the eye reaches. You walk through ancient times by medieval villages such as Gualta, Fontanilles and Palau Sator. The GR92 take you to historic Pals, one of the prettiest villages of Spain where you can have a stroll thourgh the medieval cobblestone streets.
You spent the night in a small and very charming castle with big garden and swimming pool.
Day 7: Transfer to airport or trainstation
Your trip has come to an end. We pick you up and take you to the airport or trainstation.
