Day 1: Take a stroll along the Colorado river on this scenic ride

choose distance yourself

In the morning you visit national park Arches. You discover a landscape of contrasting colors, land forms, and textures unlike any other in the world. The park has over 2,000 natural stone arches and hundreds of soaring pinnacles, massive rock fins, and giant balanced rocks.

In the afternoon you take a ride in beautiful, dramatic scenery. It's a round trip, so you turn around whenever you want. That makes this ride great for all levels. Route 279 is a scenic route, along the Colorado River and through canyons with impressive red rock formations. The first stretch continues over the brand new Colorado River bike path called the Upper Colorado River Scenic Byway. This bike path is a gem and leads you through a breathtaking gorge.  On the route you find ancient petroglyphs from Native Americans, dinosaur tracks and you can take a short walk to Corona Arch, a beautiful natural arch.

You spend the night in the center of Moab, a cozy Wild West town, in a motel (comfort) or unique lodge (premium), both with swimming pool.

Day 2: Breathtaking views over Dead Horse Point State Park

minimum 37 km

Today you cycle through the parks on a one in a lifetime ride!  You can choose to start in Moab and climb to the parks or we take you there with a transfer and you enjoy the downhill experience.

You start over a beautiful new bike path through the canyons and the desert. 12 miles later will arrive on a scenic highway towards Dead Horse State Park and Canyonlands. This is where the tough climbs and phenomenal views begin.

On your right, you see Monitor and Merrimack, 2 impressive mountains named after 2 battle ships. The views of the Henry Mountains, the Abajos and the La Sal mountain ranges become more grandiose as the climb progresses. From there it's desert driving until you reach Dead Horse Point State Park. The very tip of Dead Horse Point offers an unforgettable view.

Day 3: The wonders of national park Canyonlands

50 km 360m 1010m

We take you with a transfer to the very tip of Canyonlands, the Grand View Point Overlook. Here you get an spectacular view over the deep canyons. This rugged landscape has been shaped by centuries of erosion of the Colorada River and Green River. It is an almost impenetrable labyrinth of gorges with countless natural arches, bridges and jagged rock formations. There are both short and longer hikes to some iconic panoramas. A short, easy hike to the famous Mesa Arch is a must, especially at sunrise.

You set off by bike over the Island in the sky, an isolated plateau a mile high. It seems to float in the air with deep canyons on both sides and the Colorado and Green Rivers.

You stay the last night at your lodge or boutique hotel in Moab. The next day we transfer your luggage to your next hotel in Castle Valley.

Day 4: From alpine evergreens to Red Rock Desert

51 km 1610m 1610m

This route offers the best of both worlds, impressive green mountain scenery and red-colored canyons in a Far West landscape. The drive takes you through La Sals, the second highest mountain range in Utah.

We drop you off on the mountain road (you choose the distance you want to cycle) where you start a steady climb. After traveling over the top of the world at 2,400 meters, you leave the green mountains behind and re-enter the Wild West. You descend to Castle Valley, a red-colored valley that boasts some iconic rock formations such as The Priest, Nuns and Castle Rock.

The descent leads you to the Colorado River. You follow it for a few kilometers until you arrive at your lodge on the Colorado River. Your hotel is a unique place with luxurious private lodges overlooking the river. Your luggage is waiting for you in your room. In the Grill Cowboy you can have lunch and dinner with a view of the Red Rock Cliffs, the ocher canyons and the rapids in the river.

You can enjoy the pool with a view of the impressive rock formations or go to the Castle Creek Winery at the lodge. Here you can do a wine tasting with a view of the Colorado. Next to the tasting you will find a (free) film and western museum. It is no coincidence that this dramatic landscape has been the setting for several Western films, including John Wayne.

Day 5: Vertrek of meer avontuur

Today you continue your roadtrip or you stay an extra night in this beautiful lodge. In that case you can opt for a cycle ride to the Fisher Towers or Onion Creek.  Or you change to a horseback saddle and ride like a cowboy through the Wild West.  Other options are a kayak trip on the Colorado River, a sunset cruise with dinner on the Colorado, a jeep safari through Arches or the rugged desert or a balloon flight over the deep canyons.

We are happy to arrange it for you.

Utah

Utah: America´s best kept secret.
